Daily COVID updates and data

First time we had 50+ cases in one day was September 4, 2020. 18 deaths that month. The last time we had 50+ cases in one day was January 15, 2021. From Sept 4 - Jan 15th we had 139 deaths. Between May 5th and July 21st, we had many single-digit days. Since July 21st, we've had 2 single digit days. From Aug 5 - Aug 11, We've had one day under 30 cases. It was 28 cases.

We've been fortunate not to have deaths yet during this wave, which started in July 2021. At this point (50+ cases) in the July 2020 wave, we'd had 7 deaths. Those 7 deaths preceded a huge spike in cases and deaths.

I don't know what hospitalizations were like then. But now, we're getting about 2-3 covid admissions per day & our ICU bed capacity has been 16-18% filled by covid patients (slowly increasing) since August 2nd.

My sources are all available on this site. The trend in cases/deaths comes from IDPH. The hospitalizations data comes from the CDC.
